Māpuna have over a decade of experience in research and evaluation working with national research projects and small research or evaluation kaupapa for organisations.  Māpuna supports a research and evaluation approach to improvements and direction through;

• Evidence based approaches - In doing so, Māpuna supports the value of Mana Ake where Māori communities and partners are taken on a journey where mana and wairua is enhanced

• Kaupapa Māori theory and praxis and weaving of cultural, tribal and indigenous themes into methodologies

• Respect of communities and their participation throughout the research/evaluation process

• Considered time and thought processes research/evaluation is  well-planned and not done in a rushed or haphazard way
