DR ACUSHLA DEE SCIASCIA

CO-DIRECTOR

RESEARCH, STRATEGY & ENGAGEMENT

Dee is of Ngāruahine Rangi, Ngāti Ruanui and Te Āti Awa descent and founded Māpuna Consultants in 2016 after having her first pēpi. Dee has over 10 years experience in research, evaluation and strategy development. She's passionate about working with groups who are prepared for change and who challenge the status quo and usual ways of doing things. Dee is a māmā to three tamariki.

TUMARANGAI SCIASCIA

CO-DIRECTOR

ENGAGEMENT, MĀORI ART & URBAN DESIGN

Tumarangai Sciascia is of Ngāti Kahungunu and Kāi Tahu descent and is passionate about excellence in Māori culture. Tu is a strong advocate for incorporating Māori art and design within public places and infrastructure. Experienced in developing Māori capability within organisations, he is interested in working with groups that are committed to cultural shift & enhancement. Tumarangai is an excellent facilitator, connector and strategist and is a pāpā to three tamariki.

TE WEHI WRIGHT

SENIOR CONSULTANT

TE TIRITI O WAITANGI

Te Wehi is of Ngāruahine, Ngāti Rangitihi, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Uenukukōpako and Ngāti Kahungunu ki Te Wairoa descent and is a product of Kōhanga Reo and Kura Kaupapa Māori education and graduated with a BA/LLB from Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University Wellington. He is a licensed translator, interpreter & tutor for Te Ahu o te Reo and has worked across Government supporting agencies to better understand, embed and operationalise Te Tiriti o Waitangi.  

Te Wehi is passionate about impactful and transformational change, especially for his people and his whānau. He is a father to his three tamariki and a partner to his fiance, Te Ana.

HOLLIE SMITH

SENIOR CONSULTANT

TE REO MĀORI

Hollie is of Ngāti Tamakopiri, Whanganui Nui Tonu, Ngāti Kahungunu, and Ngāi Tahu descent.  Her passion for te reo Māori has led to over 15 years in Māori language sector policy design and implementation, and she is currently teaching te reo Māori at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University, and for the ‘Te Ahu o te Reo Māori’ nation-wide education workforce programme.  She is a licensed Toi Reo Māori translator, and a graduate of Te Panekiretanga o te Reo, and Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University.

CASSIE RATANA

PROJECT COORDINATOR

Cassie is of Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa descent.  She is the newest member to our team and brings with her years of experience in senior administration and project coordinating. She is passionate and committed to Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, is a graduate of Massey and Waikato Universities and a māmā to four tamariki.
