Dr Acushla Deanne Sciascia
Dee is of Ngāruahine Rangi, Ngāti Ruanui and Te Āti Awa descent. She completed her doctoral studies in 2013 with Massey University. Since then, she has been working in the public sector as a research contractor undertaking a diverse range of research and evaluation around Māori and Indigenous kaupapa.
Iriaka is descendant of Ngāti Porou and Ngā Puhi with ties to Ngāti Kimihia and Ngāti Mutunga. She was fortunate to have been brought up amongst Ngāti Raukawa-ki-te-tonga in Õtaki and be immersed in the kōhanga reo, kura kaupapa and wānanga Māori education system. Iriaka’s goal is to reciprocate the knowledge and lessons that were instilled in her and hand these on to her three beautiful tamariki and communities more broadly.
